Own a working amplifier that hasn't been maintained in recent years or just doesn't sound like it used to? An Amplifier Tune-Up at Hunt Amplification includes, but is not limited to:
- Installing 3-prong power cord if necessary.
- Checking for correct fuse(s) and replacing if necessary.
- Testing for leaky power supply filter caps and replacing if necessary.
- Testing for leaky coupling caps and replacing if necessary.
- Testing for out-of-spec/noisy resistors and replacing if necessary.
- Cleaning all jacks (inputs, speakers, reverb, effects loops) and replacing if necessary.
- Cleaning all switches and replacing if necessary.
- Checking reverb tank/connections and repairing if necessary.
- Inspecting the speaker(s).
- Testing tubes and replacing marginal/bad ones.
- Cleaning and re-tensioning tube sockets.
- Adjusting the power tube bias
- Measuring the amp's maximum clean output power.
- Cleaning the inside of chassis.
- Cleaning the cabinet, hardware, and faceplate (unless the amp is a valuable vintage item that you would prefer to leave in "relic" condition).
Standard $60/hr. labor rate applies to amp tune-ups.
