I was surprised at how much this differed from the classic AC30 circuits. I reverted the circuit to the stock 1960 AC30 circuits, top boost and normal, and changed the hot/cool switch into a 3-way switch with an extra "more headroom" option. I also installed a new output transformer from Magnetics Components. Sounded much better after the "modifications." The quad of old Soviet Military EL84s and a set of old stock American preamps didn't hurt either.
