Epiphone Electra

A previous technician had altered the wiring of the first tube socket so that it would accept a 12AX7 instead of a 6EU7.  Unfortunately, the filaments in the 12AX7 were rewired in series instead of parallel, cutting cut the filament voltage in half for each triode.  This caused the amp to sound muffled and dull.  I'm sure some of the additional "modifications" didn't help much either.

I rewired the socket to accept a 6EU7, replaced the electrolytic caps, installed a 3 prong power cord, and put the circuit back to stock except for some minor tweaks to give the amp a bit more punch.  I also installed grid stoppers on the EL84s.

Really nice sounding amp now.  The Weber Silver Bell speaker certainly doesn't hurt.
