This amp had been modified with a push-pull "deep" switch on each channel, because the stock amp lacks bass. Pull it out, and the EQ becomes flat (more bass), but also drops a lot of signal. I changed the switch so that pulling it out gives the same flat EQ without losing 6dB or making any popping sounds.
